Introducing... Roan Soul

Robert Berry and Andi Schenck have accomplished much in their parallel yet overlapping careers:

Robert Berry - Grammy nominated recording artist, song writer, producer and performing musician. From his breakthrough work with Bay Area stalwarts, Hush, to his dramatic leap to international renowned with ..3.. featuring Keith Emerson & Carl Palmer, to his performances with the legendary Ambrosia, combined with his long running project - Alliance, with members of Boston, Sammy Hagar and Night Ranger, along with his consistent rise as a much in demand record producer and most recently, as purveyor of the low end with Greg Kihn – proving that there is never a dull moment in Robert’s world.

Andi Schenck is a songwriter / drummer (recorded in Nashville and Hollywood / Los Angeles). He worked and performed with the Alternative Rock band The Reckoning (modern rock with a horn section). This band recorded in San Jose and Hollywood, and also worked with Dito Godwin ( No Doubt, Butterfly Boucher, Motley Crue). The Reckoning performed across Texas to California and received radio airplay throughout the US, on Modern Rock radio stations. They also performed acoustic sets through Borders Books & Music and Hard Rock Café, performing on the Hard Rock Café patio before such concerts as Rob Thomas. Andi also worked and performed with the Prog Rock band Pangaea. This band, with HMG Records, signed worldwide distribution deals with Angular Records (Germany) and then with Musea Records (France). Pangaea was selling throughout Europe and worldwide in the Prog community, with the help of radio airplay in Europe, North America, Asia, South America, and Israel; magazine spots in Art Rock, Metal Hammer, Eclipsed, etc.; band interviews; appearance on a Pink Floyd tribute album; and good album reviews. The band enjoyed their success in Prog Rock.

Roan Soul is the coming together of two songwriters / performers to create a fresh new sound – powerfully moving, yet smooth. Having worked together successfully through many recording projects, Robert Berry and Andi Schenck have decided to take their collaboration to the next level. The songs created in their collaboration come naturally as two long time friends explore their creative possibilities. Roan Soul hits with combining their favorite styles of Rock, Pop, R & B, and Latin.

Introducing Saxophonist Vandell Andrew!

Hailing from the "birth place of jazz",Vandell Andrew's destiny was not too hard to find. Vandell started studying music at the age of 13 at a local jazz summer camp in the Treme area of New Orleans. It was then that he learned to play the trumpet. After a whole summer of playing the trumpet, Vandell was approached by one of his teachers that his embouchure would be better suited playing the saxophone.

Being that this teacher was the COOLEST sax player in the world,Vandell took this ultimatum as a compliment that his teacher would be even considering teaching him. Soon after learning to play the alto saxophone, Vandell joined the infamous St.Augustine "Marching 100" band. Playing in events and parades all over the world, convinced Vandell that this was what he wanted to do for a living after high school. Following high school, Vandell enrolled in music classes at Southern University at New Orleans, and studied with the legendary Edward "Kidd" Jordan. Shortly after about a month of studying with Kidd, the horrible hurricane Katrina took the city of New Orleans by storm.Vandell found himself relocating to Dallas,Tx. This experience was extremely hard to cope with at first ,but Vandell began to like living in Dallas a little more, after seeing how much opportunity their was. Vandell began writing and working on his own original compositions. This has led to him sharing stages with many local acts,at many different venues. As well as nationally known acts like Kirk Whalum, and Tom Braxton. In June of 2011, Vandell released his debut album, titled "Years Later...". This album is a collection of original songs that has been written since Vandell has relocated to Texas. The "Years Later..." album has been getting amazing reviews from smooth jazz fans and critics across the globe. This is only the beginning for this young man. Keep your ears ready for Vandell Andrew!
